Notes

Started as just a handful of lyrics by Johnson. Penniman (Little Richard) and Bumps Blackwell added the music and more lyrics.

First working title was The Thing. Later Bald Headed Sally. Little Richard first recorded version was as The Ting. Recorded again on 7th February 1956, as Long Tall Sally, at the J & M Studio in New Orleans and released in March 1956 on the Speciality label.

First song Paul McCartney sang on stage at the age of 15. Also the last song the Beatles performed on stage during a paid concert - Candlestick Park 29th August 1966.
